Who’s asking?
I’m Oghenefejiro Jeshurun Editor Etemire, Etems to most people. I’m a chemical and renewable energy engineer who has walked refinery floors, wired control panels, and welded pipework, and then went back to school to learn how to design the energy systems that come next. I take an energy idea from sketch to simulation to bankable numbers, before anyone spends money on hardware.
Experience
2023 – 2024 · London, UK
Graduate researcher, MSc Renewable Energy Engineering
Kingston University London
Designed and virtually developed a hybrid photovoltaic-thermal system in SOLIDWORKS, ANSYS, and Polysun: CFD thermal analysis, whole-system simulation, and techno-economic evaluation (NPV, LCOE). Alongside: a passive solar house design and a full 30 MW wind farm development plan.
2022 – 2023 · Lagos, Nigeria
System engineer
Daptem Engineering Nigeria Limited
Industrial data and automation: AVEVA PI Vision installation and Asset Framework work, AutoCAD layouts for CO₂ and H₂S fire-and-gas detector placement across industrial deck areas, and PLC wiring with Siemens TIA Portal simulations.
2019 – 2020 · Delta State, Nigeria
Chemical engineer (internship)
Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (NNPC)
Monitored live refinery operations across distillation, hydrotreating, and utilities: recording operational data, flagging abnormal trends, and coordinating control-room, maintenance, HSE, and P&ID verification activities.
